  I think your letter is fantastic

  Very heartfelt and sincere. As someone else already said, you just need a nice concluding paragraph.

  I also think it was fantastic that you have received so much support in this forum from people that truly care about you, even though most, if not all, have ever met you. I tip my hat to everyone here who has made their comments and offered suggestions or words of encouragement!

  That is a testiment to the human spirit...which is one of the wonderful side effects of breaking free from the truth - you can actually embrace your fellow man and woman!

  i know that there are hundreds of elders in the same position as myself (have had our awakening and have come to realize that "the truth" is a sham).. i encourage you to continue to serve as an elder and for you to work together with other like minded elders as a collective force for true good.

  there is much we can do from the inside to help the cause.. there are thousands and indeed millions of kind and honest hearted people whose only crime is that they have allowed themselves to be deceived and are still active jws.

  Oracle, you can't fix the Watchtower Society. they never have had God's approval and never will because they will never relinquish their control, submit to Jesus nor will they allow the JW's to submit to Jesus.

  Get out while you still can.

  Please be assured, that my desire is not to "fix" the WT Society. Unless of course by fix, you mean to completely irradicate - then yes, yes I do want to "fix" the WT. *Nvrgnbk* - that was for you...hee hee

  But seriously, I only want to see innocent, honest hearted ones saved from the dangers, of what I truly believe is a very very VERY dangerous religion. The WT's demise will only be a potentially convenient side effect of my mission.

  This is your chance to really do something worthwhile with your life.

  ... how about something that has nothing to do with WBTS? Why not just walk away clean?

  Too many innocent people being mislead and being put in harms way. A new generation of children born to JW parents must be saved.

  I certainly do not condone anyone for leaving (it is a VERY SMART thing to do), however I am hopefull that those who decide to leave can spend some time trying to save as many people as they can before they quietly leave, and for as long a period as they can after they leave as well (as many are doing here). I just can't stand the thought of standing idly by and watching my friends and family waste their lives away and put themselves and their children in harm's way - all for a foolish religion.

  Hi Amnesion,

  Perhaps it is the symptons of a nasty WT hangover from the 40 years of brainwashing that I have yet to fully shake free from, that caused me to write "men" in responsible positions as opposed to making a general call to men and women. I guess I am looking to effect change by influencing the leadership. And since the WT organization leaders are all men, they become my target for infiltration and influence. I certainly don't want to exclude women from drawing their swords and heading in to battle. If you happen to be a woman and are eager to join the cause then please do.

  As for specifics I would happy to share what I am basically thinking. There is no grand scheme that I can reveal at the moment, but here is what I can tell you....

  We all know the truth is a sham. Why? It is because we have become educated. By whatever means, whether it be simply personal study, by listening to someone with knowledge, or by surfing the net, visiting the library, meditation on common sense, etc etc. The bottom line is we all now have specific knowledge that has set us free.

  Now, the way the WT organization is set up - it is very difficult for this kind of knowledge to reach the rank and file JW. The fear of apostacy, the fear of displeasing Jehovah, the fear of demons, the fear of being disfellowshipped for straying from the straight and narrow path - all these fears contribute to the fact that JWs will rarely allow themselves to get exposed to the kind of information that will educate them and plant seeds of doubt and weaken their faith.

  Therefore, I believe the secret to effecting massive disruption, massive loss of faith in JW doctrine, and thus a mass exodus of sorts, lies in accomplishing two things;

  1) providing information to the rank and file that they would not normally come accross, and

  2) somehow alleviating their fears of examining that information, thus allowing their minds to freely consider things without any of the aforementioned fears shutting their minds down before the information has had a chance to take root and work its magic.

  Emailing information that can be considered in the privacy of your own home that is designed to be less alarming than an outright attack is the one method I am currently trying. I am having some success with it, and I'd like others to try. Other methods should be thought of and tested as well. Whatever works best we will use.

  I also wanted to start a dialogue with other elders and WT leaders who are of the same mind as myself. I have written a code of ethics for elders that I personally follow, which allows me to stay on as an elder and work out my mission without feeling like a hypocrit. I have copied it on an earlier post somewhere, I have edited it a bit since then - but at any rate, I would like to share that document with other elders, bethelites, CO's etc and encourage them to stay on serving, but to consider serving under this code of ethics. I certainly do not have all the answers. But I do know that there are many innocent people that I love very much, who are trapped in this evil and dangerous religion. I cannot sit idly by and see these people's lives ruined and the lives of their children threatened to be ruined. It makes me sick to my stomach. Therefore I am trying to do what I can to make a small difference, but my gut tells me that it will become a big difference if I can get more people involved. I realize this forum is more for moral support for ex-JWs, so I may be sounding the battle horn in the wrong camp - but I am certain there are a bunch of, I believe you call them "lurkers" who come to read posts who may be ripe for some recruiting for a truly honorable cause, unlike the false and foolish cause of a door to door evangelical JW.

  Once again, I let an email get too long. I hope I answered your question Amnesion! And women are more than welcome to get involved with leading and participating with this campaign!! I ABSOLUTELY hate and abhor the ridiculous discrimination against women in the JW religion, and I apologize profusely for giving off the wrong vibe.

  Banned dual baptism

  i just saw the beautiful picture of my wife being baptized with her grandfather 20 years ago that i framed for her.. then i remembered that the society has now banned being baptized along side a loved one and sharing it them.. they of course feel that baptism is between you and jehovah.

  not true!.

  dedicating yourself is between you and jehovah not the visual display of baptism.

  But wait....THE WHOLE THING IS ABSOLUTELY BONKERS!

  WHAT ARE WE DOING WASTING OUR LIVES STILL IN THIS WACKED ORGANIZATION?

  I guess things are complicated. Friends, families,, etc etc.

  Plus, I personally have taken up a new cause to free my friends and family from the grips of evil, and the tryanny of the WT. That really does helps me sleep at night, but HOLY COW ...we are one screwed up religion/sect/cult or whatever you want to call us!!

  Elder for 30 years, lost privelages due to WT Education policy

  an elder who was serving for more than 30 years, faithfull to the organization at all means, has lost his privelage due to the wt education policy.

  the reason was that he allowed his son to study at the university.

  a few ways you could help:

  • send this to everyone you know in the JW universe.
  • by either - printing and mailing or
  • emailing from an anonymous email account (hushmail is good and easy to sign up for - plus it is free)
  • or get me contact info of JW's you know, and I can send it for you (but since you don't me well yet, you may feel safer doing it yourself - there are some legitimate trust issues when dealing with people through the internet which I respect and appreciate.
